I’m Ryan Mangan. I Build the Website Myself.

Thirty years finding things other people missed. Fifteen years building websites for anybody who asked. Now I do it on purpose, for small businesses across Maryland.

What an Investigator Does All Day

I’ve spent three decades as a professional investigator. Interviews. Records. Timelines. Finding the one detail everybody else walked past, and then being able to prove it.

That job is mostly one skill: understanding something that isn’t yours. Sitting across from a person and working out what they actually mean, not just what they said. Reading the boring documents nobody wants to read. Not stopping at the first answer.

That’s the entire first half of building a website.

Before anybody picks a font, somebody has to figure out how your business really makes money, who your customers really are, and what they’re actually typing into Google at eleven at night. Most web designers skip that part. They ask for your logo and start choosing colors.

I don’t skip it. It’s the part I’m best at.

You Have Too Much To Do And Not Enough Hours

I know. That’s the whole reason I’m here

Why I’m doing this

Fifteen Years of Doing This for Friends

This isn’t a career change so much as an admission.

I’ve been building websites for fifteen years. For friends. For family. For a guy at church who needed one and had no idea where to start. For somebody’s cousin who’d been quoted eight thousand dollars and nearly gave up on the whole idea.

I never advertised it. I never had to. It kept happening because the work was good and people talked.

I’m a few years out from retiring from investigation. So I’m taking the thing I’ve quietly been good at for fifteen years and doing it properly, with a name on the door and a phone number that rings to me.

Same work I’ve always done. I’m just answering the phone now.

What I actually understand

You Didn’t Open Your Business To Become a Marketer

You opened it because you’re good at the thing you do. The welding. The food. The books. The install. The haircut.

Then it turned out you also had to be the bookkeeper. The scheduler. The HR department. The one who unclogs the toilet at closing. And now, apparently, a web developer and an SEO expert too.

Nobody warned you about that part.

So here’s my job, plainly: be the person you hand the website to so you can stop thinking about it. You tell me how the business works. I go find the rest — the words, the pictures, the structure, the search terms, the hosting, the thing that breaks at four on a Friday.

You have a business to run. I’ll run the website.

Straight answers

What You Should Know Before You Call

You get me, not a team

There’s no account manager and no hand-off. The person you talk to is the person who builds it, hosts it, and picks up when you call.

I’m in Hagerstown

Not a call center with a Maryland landing page. I’m here, I know this market, and we can sit down at a table if you’d rather.

You own everything

The domain, the files, the content. If you ever want to take it somewhere else, you take all of it. No hostages.

One number, agreed first

We settle the total before I start. Pay it straight through or spread it over months. No surprise invoice in month three.

Tell Me About Your Business

No pitch and no sales guy. Tell me what you do and what the website needs to accomplish, and I’ll tell you straight what it takes and what it costs.
